Apr 18, Kathmandu- The United Trade Union has submitted a memorandum to the concerned persons including the Chairman of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, demanding the immediate promulgation of the Civil Service Act.
Stating that the Federal Civil Service Act is necessary to make the civil administration effective, transparent and accountable as per the federal structure, the trade union has demanded that the draft of the act be prepared and the process be taken forward immediately.
Trade union representatives submitted a memorandum to the Chairman of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, on Friday. The memorandum with the demands has since been submitted to the Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and the Chief Secretary.
The memorandum includes demands for clarifying the provisions related to the service conditions, transfers, promotions, and security of employees through the Civil Service Act, ensuring the rights of employees, and restructuring the administrative structure in line with the federal structure.
