Apr 21, Kathmandu- The habeas corpus case filed by detained Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative case has been dismissed.

The case, which was heard by a single bench of Judge Hari Prasad Phuyal, has been dismissed.

Nikita Poudel had filed a writ petition on behalf of Lamichhane on Sunday, demanding the release of Lamichhane, who is in custody awaiting trial on charges of cooperative fraud.

The Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court had ordered Lamichhane to be remanded in custody for trial on Chaitra 22 in the Supreme Savings and Loan Cooperative Society fraud case in Butwal.

Earlier, Rabi had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court order to remand him in custody.
