May 06, Kathmandu- A young man from Chaudandigadhi Municipality-9 has been arrested by the police on charges of abusing a hospital doctor. Devraj Bista, 33, of Chaudandigadhi Municipality-9 has been arrested on charges of abusing Dr. Dipesh Yadav, a doctor at the District Hospital Udayapur.

Bista is accused of misbehaving with radiologist Dr. Yadav during the hospital's office hours on Monday afternoon. The hospital administration has stated that Bista entered the office and verbally abused Dr. Yadav, accusing him of being late for work. Dr. Yadav has complained to the hospital administration that Bista verbally abused him as soon as he entered the office after having lunch, as it was the afternoon break.

Bista also told the hospital that he entered the office by kicking the door and became angry and abusive. Bista misbehaved when he was present in the office at the scheduled time to work and about 20-22 patients were waiting in line outside the room, the hospital said, quoting Dr. Yadav. "I was in the process of calling the names of the patients when this misbehavior happened", he added.

Immediately after the incident, the hospital administration called the police and requested them to take Bista under control and take legal action. The hospital's Chief Medical Superintendent (MESU) Dr. Birendra Mandal said that Bista was taken under control based on a written complaint filed at the District Police Office. The police said that an investigation is underway against Bista.
