Seven Arrested Including Culture Division Chief At A Gambling Centre In Pashupati Amalkot

May 18, Kathmandu- Police have arrested seven people while they were gambling inside the office of the Shree Pashupatinath Amalkot Court under the Pashupati Area Development Fund.

Police arrested seven people, including Ishworman Bhandari, the head of the culture division of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, with cash on Saturday. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukdev Khanal, the chief of the Gaushakha of the Metropolitan Police Circle of Nepal Police, confirmed that the seven people were arrested while gambling.

Khanal said that the investigation has been initiated against the accused. "The investigation has been initiated after arresting him. Since Saturday is a holiday, the necessary legal process will proceed from Sunday," he said.

Meanwhile, Pashupati Area Development Trust Member Secretary Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa has said that he has received information that gamblers have been arrested inside the Amalkot courthouse. Dr. Thapa has clarified that action will be taken as per the Trust's employee service regulations after the police investigation is completed.

"Who among the seven people is guilty and who is innocent will be known after the police investigation. The fund has its own regulations. Action will be taken against those who gamble within the premises of Pashupatinath Temple as per the regulations," said Dr. Thapa.
