May 18, Kathmandu- The first-ever Sagarmatha Sambaad 2025 has concluded with the issuance of a declaration with a message of common understanding to solve the climate crisis. On Sunday, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba concluded the Sagarmatha Sambad by announcing the issuance of a 25-point 'Sagarmatha Call for Action' declaration.
During the meeting, Minister Rana said that the Sagarmatha Dialogue was successful in raising voices on the problems arising from the mountains to the islands due to climate change. She said that collective efforts are needed to achieve results by implementing the conclusions of the dialogue.
Similarly, she mentioned that the issues and suggestions discussed in the dialogue will be raised at various international forums. Minister Rana said that the Sagarmatha Dialogue has become a historic forum for a shared commitment to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
She informed that the second edition of the Sagarmatha Dialogue will be held in 2027. The government is organizing the Sagarmatha Dialogue for the first time with the aim of informing the world community about climate change and its impact and finding solutions. High-level delegations from 12 countries, including 175 foreign guests, participated in the conference.
