Jun 07, Kathmandu - Four more people have been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the Far West Province.
According to Hemraj Joshi, the epidemic contact person for the Far West Province Health Directorate, all of the confirmed cases are men who have returned from India.
Three people at the Trinagar checkpoint and one at the Jhulaghat checkpoint tested positive for the infection. The infected people are from Kanchanpur, Achham and Bajhang, Joshi informed.
He said, "Five people have been confirmed to be COVID-19 positive when testing the suspected person through the antigen kit. The infected people have been asked to stay in 'home isolation'."
Earlier, five people were infected on Friday, one on Thursday and three on Wednesday.
The Department of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Population, has directed its subordinate offices, hospitals and laboratories to be on alert in view of the possibility of an epidemic of infection.
