Jun 27, Kathmandu - Two different mobile apps have been launched for the collection, management and security of details of Nepalis working abroad. The apps named ‘Shram Sansar App’ and ‘Hami Mobile App’ were launched through separate programs yesterday.
‘Shram Sansar App’ has been launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari jointly launched the app. Nepalis working abroad can register their details through this app.

This will help in getting information about how many Nepalis are in which country and what their situation is. Such details will make it easier for the government to provide necessary consular services to Nepalis abroad, and to immediately rescue and coordinate in case of problems. According to Foreign Minister Rana, in the past years, due to lack of information, many Nepalis were cheated, got into trouble and used to come to the ministry with complaints. Now the use of the app will help in eliminating such problems. Similarly, the Korean government has launched the ‘Hami Mobile App’ to easily provide necessary information to Nepalis who want to go for foreign employment. This app has been prepared with the financial support of the Korean government.

The app will be operated in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor of the Government of Nepal. While unveiling the app, Labor Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari said that the government wants to bring transparency and policy reforms in the labor market through the use of digital technology. The ‘Hami Mobile App’ can be used in both Nepali and English. The app contains information and resources related to skill development, financial planning, and mental health. According to the Korean Embassy, the app will support Nepali workers before, during, and after their return to Korea for employment. In addition, the aim is to promote entrepreneurship and make foreign employment dignified, safe, and organized.
