Home Minister Orders Investigation Over Prime Minister Oli’s Spain Visit

Jul 14, Kathmandu - Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed an impartial investigation into the allegations that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli went to Spain without a government delegation. Minister Lekhak directed Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deepak Thapa to investigate the visit to Spain on Monday morning.

"Apart from the Prime Minister's delegation, who went to Spain? I have instructed to investigate the issue of which procedure and through which organization they went to Spain," Minister Lekhak said. "Who arranged the visit visa for them? There will be an investigation into such issues."

The Central Investigation Bureau of the Police and the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau will be deployed for a thorough investigation into the matter. "Those found guilty in this matter will face action", he said. Prime Minister Oli had visited Spain on Ashadha 14.

The delegation including the Prime Minister returned on Ashadha 20. After the delegation including the Prime Minister returned, Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Sobita Gautam drew the attention of the Parliament to the news that some of the people who accompanied the Prime Minister on his visit to Spain had not returned.
