Jul 17, Kathmandu - Supporters of Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh have opened a front against the head of the interim government, Mohammad Yunus. In Gopalganj, Bangladesh, clashes broke out between the student organizations of Yunus-backed NCP and Sheikh Hasina's Awami League.
Indian media reported that 4 people were killed and 9 were injured during the demonstration and clashes. Curfew has been imposed in the Gopalganj area.
According to reports, paramilitary personnel have been deployed at various locations. Mohammad Yunus has condemned the Awami League for the violent clashes and said that those responsible for the violence will be brought to justice.
On the other hand, Sheikh Hasina's party, the Awami League, has accused the Yunus government of attacking its workers.
