Jul 20, Kathmandu - Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Sumana Shrestha has said that it is not appropriate to take a stand on the School Education Bill as most of the demands of teachers have been met. Speaking to media persons at Singha Durbar on Sunday, MP Shrestha stated that most of the issues included in the bill were based on the agreement reached with the teachers, and that the teachers should not take a stand on additional demands at this time.
She suggested that teachers study the report of the subcommittee on the School Education Bill. Shrestha urged them to be aware that other groups have also started playing with the bill by showing the faces of teachers.
She stressed that the delay in passing the bill was due to the request of the Minister of Education, and that political parties should also take it seriously.
