Couple Electrocuted While Charging Electric Rickshaw in Saptari

Jul 26, Kathmandu - A couple has died after being electrocuted in Saptari. A couple died after being electrocuted while charging a city rickshaw in Ward No. 2, Pauwa, Rupani Rural Municipality. Baleshwor Khang Mandal, approximately 45 years old, and his wife Ram Kumari Khang, approximately 42 years old, both died after being electrocuted while charging an electric city rickshaw, said Police Inspector Uday Kumar Rai of the District Police Office.

According to Police Inspector Rai, the husband was electrocuted while trying to charge a city rickshaw at his home, and his wife was also electrocuted when she tried to free him. Both of them died on the spot, police said. The body of the deceased has been brought to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for a postmortem and further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
