Jul 27, Kathmandu - Dengue infection has been confirmed in 609 people in Gandaki Province since last month. The provincial health ministry has stated that dengue infection has been increasing since the onset of the rainy season.
While 169 people were diagnosed with dengue in last month, 185 people have been confirmed infected with the disease since Asar. The highest number of dengue infections in the province is in Kaski (307), Tanahun (101), Lamjung (77), Gorkha (46), Syangja (28), Baglung (19), Parbat (17), Myagdi (10) and Nawalpur (4), according to the health ministry.
So far, no dengue patients have been reported in Mustang and Manang. Out of the 307 confirmed cases in Kaski, 103 are from Pokhara Metropolitan City. Nearly half of the dengue patients confirmed across the province so far have been found in Pokhara Metropolitan City.
