Jul 29, Kathmandu - Six people, including a pilgrim, have died after a bus and a truck collided in Deoghar, Jharkhand. The Central SDO of Deoghar and a hospital doctor have confirmed the incident. 24 people have been injured in the accident. The injured are being treated in the hospital, Indian media reported.
Deoghar Civil Surgeon Yugal Kishore Chaudhary confirmed that six people died in the accident. The other seriously injured have been referred to AIIMS, Deoghar.
The accident is said to have occurred due to the bus driver falling asleep. Police have said that the accident occurred between 4 and 5 am on Tuesday. Initial investigation has revealed that the bus carrying pilgrims from Deoghar to Basukinath lost control and collided with a truck.
