Aug 01, Kathmandu - The validity period of a driver's license has reached 10 years.
The government has published a bill to amend some Nepal Acts in the Gazette. According to which, the license period in the Vehicle and Transport Management Act 2049 has been increased from 5 years to 10 years. Sub-section 3 of Section 54 of the Act mentions the period for which a license is valid. According to the amended provision, such a period will now be valid for 10 years. The period for which a license is valid for renewal has also been increased to 10 years.
Earlier, the validity period for renewal was 5 years. According to the new arrangement, it is mentioned that the private sector will also be allowed to operate vehicle inspection and pollution testing centers.
