19 Including Gangster Chakre Milan, To Remain In Custody For At Least 7 Days

Aug 01, Kathmandu - The 19 people arrested from the birthday party of Chakre Milan alias Milan Gurung, known as the gangster, will be remanded in custody for at least 7 days.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has granted permission to detain them for 7 days for investigation after they were arrested from a hotel in Maharajgunj last night.

Although 47 people were arrested during the night, 28 were released by the police. The police had sought a remand period to keep the remaining 19 in custody, saying that they needed to be investigated for indecent assault.

The Chief District Officer has a provision to look into the cases of those being investigated for the first time for indecent assault. According to Kathmandu SP Kuldeep Chand, with the extension of the remand period, Chakre Milan, Ganosh Bahadur Bogati, Nirajan Poudel, Roshan Subedi, Rajesh Khadka, Sandeep KC, and Rahul Khadka will be detained for investigation.

"People of various backgrounds were arrested, some of whom were screened and others were released," said SP Chand.
