Student Organizations Call For Transparent Teacher Recruitment and Student-Friendly Education Laws

Aug 01, Kathmandu - Sixteen student organizations have demanded that the school teacher appointment process should be conducted through 100% open competition based on inclusiveness.

Sixteen student organizations close to the party have issued a joint statement today, expressing their concern over the government's neglect of student issues and the bill. They have demanded that the government include this provision in the School Education Act. They believe that the government has been neglectful in not issuing the School Education Act despite repeated commitments to do so.

The joint student organization has demanded the promulgation of a student-friendly school education act. It has been demanded to implement the provision that education up to the secondary level should be completely free as provided in Article 31 of the Constitution. According to the Education Act, 2028, the student organizations have concluded that the state should take responsibility for the management of all types of teachers and employees. They have demanded that student organizations also participate in the discussion on the School Education Bill.

16 student organizations have demanded that elections be held for the Student Union or Welfare Council as provided in the Acts of Tribhuvan University and other universities.
