Hamas Accused Of Starving Israeli Hostage

Aug 03, Kathmandu - Hamas has been accused of starving Israeli hostages. The family of Abater David, who was held captive in Gaza, has accused Hamas of deliberately starving him as part of a "propaganda" campaign.

David's family's statement came on Saturday after Hamas released a video showing a severely emaciated David in a narrow, concrete tunnel.

David, 24, was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023. He has been in Hamas custody since then. David was held hostage during a music festival in southern Israel.

“We are forced to watch our beloved son and brother, Abater David, being deliberately and shamefully starved to death in a Hamas tunnel in Gaza. A living skeleton, buried alive,” David’s family said.

David’s family has called on the Israeli government and the international community to “do everything possible to save Abater.”

In a video released by Hamas, David says, “I haven’t eaten for days… I can only get water to drink with great difficulty.”
