Landslide Blocks Siddhartha Highway In Palpa's Siddhababa Area

Aug 04, Kathmandu - A landslide along the Siddhartha Highway in Palpa's Siddhababa area on Monday afternoon (August 4) due to continuous rains has blocked the road. According to the Area Police Office, Dobhan, landslides involving large rocks and mud have occurred at at least two to three places near the Siddhababa Temple.

The road is completely blocked. There is little chance of it being reopened immediately. Vehicles are stuck in the middle of the road. Police have stated that rescue operations are also difficult due to the risk.

It is said that due to the possibility of further landslides due to continuous rains, it is difficult to immediately send a large machine considering safety.

The government is constructing a tunnel in the area. The tunnel has been 'breakthrough'. The project has stated that lining work is underway.
