Newly Appointed Chief Minister Of Bagmati Baniya Takes Oath

Aug 05, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress leader Indra Bahadur Baniya has taken the oath of office and secrecy as the sixth Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.

Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota administered the oath of office and secrecy to Baniya today (Tuesday) after appointing him as the Chief Minister. Baniya, who is also the president of the Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Committee, had staked his claim to form the government with the support of the CPN-UML on Monday.

He was appointed Chief Minister after securing a majority of 64 MPs, including Congress and UML, out of 110 members in the provincial assembly.
