Aug 09, Kathmandu - Two people died today when a scooter and a bus collided with each other in Pani piya Jungle on the Itahari-Dharan road section of Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-20 in Sunsari.

The scooter driver, Sujan BK of Birtamod Municipality-5 in Jhapa, and the passenger behind him, Suraj BK, were seriously injured when a bus (Province 1-02-002 Kha 0455) coming from Itahari towards Dharan collided with a scooter (Ko 22 Pa 2125) coming from the opposite direction.

Both the injured died at 12:30 pm during treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, said Yograj Khatiwada, police spokesperson at the District Police Office.

The bus driver, Prem Magar of Belka Municipality-3, Udayapur, has been taken into custody by the District Police Office, and police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
