Aug 10, Kathmandu - US Vice President JD Vance and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy have met with security officials to discuss the Ukraine war.
The meeting took place on Saturday at Lammy’s official residence in Kent, near London.
It was attended by Rustam Umarov, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Zelensky’s chief of staff Andrii Yermak, and officials from the UK, the US, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Finland and NATO.
The meeting was reportedly called at the initiative of the US. Ukrainian officials and national security advisers from Europe were also present on the occasion.
Lamy said: “The UK has full support for Ukraine and we will continue to work for a just and lasting peace.”
The statement came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made it clear that he would not make any territorial concessions to Russia.
Zelensky made this statement ahead of a summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska next week.
