Aug 19, Kathmandu - Nepal has made a brilliant start to their bowling campaign against Hobart Hurricanes Academy in the ongoing Top End T20 series in Australia. Captain Rohit Kumar Poudel took a wicket in the second ball of the first over to give Nepal a great start.
He bowled Nivethan Radhakrishnan for no out. Chasing a target of 181 runs, Hobart lost one wicket in the first over without adding any runs.
Earlier, Nepal, who won the toss and elected to bat first at the Cajalis Arena in Palmerston, scored a total of 180 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Arif Sheikh top-scored for Nepal with 35 runs. Similarly, Asif Sheikh scored 29, Kushal Bhurtel scored 27, Lokash Bam scored an unbeaten 25 and Bhim Sarki scored 18 runs.
Hobart's Nivethan Radhakrishnan and Raf MacMillan took two wickets each. Similarly, Marcus Benn, Gabe Bell and Bradley Hope took one wicket each.
Nepal is looking for its first win in the ongoing series. Nepal lost to Northern Territory Strikers by 42 runs, Bangladesh 'A' by 32 runs and Melbourne Stars Academy by 31 runs.
