Aug 21, Kathmandu - Private school teachers and principals have begun a protest in Kathmandu's Maitighar Mandala today, demanding that their demands be included, as the Parliament's Education, Health and Technology Committee moves to pass the School Education Bill.

The committee meeting is being held today. Teachers and principals of private schools have also warned that they will intensify the agitation by closing schools from Bhadra 25 if their demands are not met.

Private school teachers and principals have announced a phased protest, saying the government has ignored their demands. On Bhadra 5, principals demonstrated with banners at Maitighar. On Bhadra 6, school buses across the country will circle the city with black flags, hold a rally in Kathmandu, and surround the Education Committee and Parliament.
