Aug 24, Kathmandu - Rising Star Cricket Academy is organizing the U-14 T-20 Boys Open Cricket Tournament. The tournament will be held from Bhadra 24 to Ashwin 8, informed Rising Star Cricket Academy and Event Management.
The group stage and semi-final matches of the tournament, which is being organized with the aim of encouraging young cricket talent in Nepal, will be held at the Sifal Ground Gaushala, according to the organizers.
The final match of the tournament will be held at the Lower or Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground. A total of 17 teams will compete in the league and knockout stages of the tournament, according to the organizers.
Five teams from the Cricket Excellence Center, four from the Great Himalayan Cricket Academy, two from the Oasis Cricket Academy, and one each from Kathmandu Cricket Academy, Kings Cricket Academy, Kavre Cricket Academy, Nexus Cricket Academy, Alpine Academy, and the host Rising Star Cricket Academy will participate in the competition.
The organizers have stated that the participating teams will be divided into four groups and the top two teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
The winner of the competition will receive 30,000 in cash, a trophy and a certificate, and the runner-up will receive 20,000 in cash, a trophy and a certificate.
The organizers informed through a press conference that awards, trophies and certificates will also be given to the ‘Player of the Tournament’, ‘Best Batter’, ‘Best Bowler’ and ‘Best Fielder’ in the competition.
