Aug 31, Kathmandu - A new company that announced the launch of internet services has shut down its website the day after it was launched. An ISP company called NNET (Purple), which issued a press release on Thursday announcing the launch of internet services, has kept its website down since Friday.
On Friday, the regulator Nepal Telecommunication Authority had warned of action if the service was brought into operation, saying that the tariff had not been approved. The website of Nnet, which has become the subject of many inquiries after the company's very presence seemed suspicious, has been taken down. Now, when you open the website, you see a notice saying "Exiting Offer Coming Soon!! Site will be available soon. Thank you for your patience".
While on Thursday alone, the company announced the launch of its service from major cities in Nepal including Kathmandu and also made various packages public. It is understood that Ncell had also filed an application with the authority on Friday itself, alleging that its brand was being used. This suggests that the company may have kept the website closed for tariff approval and to bring changes to the UI and branding of its website.
