Sep 01, Kathmandu - Serbian Novak Djokovic, who is aiming to win his 25th Grand Slam, has entered the quarterfinals of the US Open tennis. Djokovic entered the quarterfinals of the US Open by defeating German qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff in straight sets.
Despite having to seek medical attention twice, Djokovic's game was not significantly affected. Djokovic won easily 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 in a match that lasted one hour and 49 minutes.
Second seed Carlos Alcaraz of Spain also secured a place in the last eight. Alcaraz advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Arthur Rinderknecht of France in straight sets in a match held on Monday morning.
Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic and Taylor Fritz of the United States have also secured their place in the quarterfinals by winning their respective matches.
Top seed Aryna Sabalenka also qualified for the quarterfinals after winning the women's singles match. Sablenka of Belarus defeated Cristina Bucsa of Spain in just one hour and 13 minutes in the final four.
American Jessica Pegula, the fourth seed, defeated her countryman Ann Lee in 54 minutes. Czech Republic's Marketa Vondrousova and Barbora Krejcikova have also secured their place in the final round.
