US Deportation: 37 Nepalese Return Home as Immigration Enforcement Intensifies

Sep 02, Kathmandu - The United States has expelled 37 more Nepalese. The US has deported 37 Nepalese who entered the US illegally and violated its immigration laws. They are arriving in Kathmandu on Wednesday by chartered plane. The United States has already informed the Nepalese government about the expulsion of 37 Nepalese.

According to immigration sources, a chartered US plane carrying 37 deported Nepalis will land at Tribhuvan International Airport at around 2:30 pm tomorrow. Most of those being deported are in the age group of 26 to 30. Most of them did not have documents at the time of their arrest.

They were arrested in the US on charges of violating immigration laws. The Nepali Embassy in Washington, DC, has issued travel documents to those who do not have passports. Those to be deported include two Basnets, three Bhandaris, one each with the surnames Bishwakarma, Bohara, Budhathoki, Chinal, Dangi, Kunwar, Khatri and Shah. Similarly, two Chaudharys, two Kandels, two Khadkas, six KCs and three Olis are also on the list of those deported.

Similarly, Acharya, Pun, BK, Gautam, Sherpa, Singh, Subedi, Tamang and one person with the surname Thada will also arrive in Nepal tomorrow.

They were illegally staying and were arrested by US security personnel after they did not have documents during a regular check. Recently, Nepalis who entered the US illegally have started being deported in droves. Immigration there has increased surveillance on immigrants who entered the US illegally. Nepalese have also started falling victim to this.
