Sep 06, Kathmandu - A bus and a tanker collided in Dhading.
A bus (Na 4 Kha 2894) going from Kathmandu to Birgunj and a petrol tanker (Na 4 Kha 3133) coming from Birgunj to Kathmandu collided on the Prithvi Highway road section at Badremod in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5 of Dhading.
According to the District Police Office, Dhading, 13 people on board the bus were injured when a Dhading Transport Committee bus and a petrol tanker collided. Police said there were 60 people on the bus.
Among the injured, 13 have been taken to the Malekhu-based Highway Hospital for treatment.
DSP Subash Hamal, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Dhading, has also informed that all the injured are from Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading.
The injured are Sarita Chepang, 20, Hari Bahadur Chepang, 45, Hom Bahadur Chepang, 60, Apsara Chepang, 20, Manisha Pariyar, 13, Nabin Chepang, 12, Ranjit Chepang, 13, Fulmaya Chepang, 68, Bishnu Chepang, 49, Kalpana Chepang, 28, Tara Baniya, 40, Sangita Chepang, 36, and Ajay Chepang, 10.
The bus driver, Jeevan Rana, 31, of Kailash Rural Municipality-2 in Makawanpur, and the tanker driver, Buddha Thokar, 35, of Thakre Rural Municipality-5 in Dhading, are in police custody.
The police said that further investigation into the accident is underway.
