Sep 08, Kathmandu - An indefinite curfew order has been issued in Itahari, Sunsari after protests escalated.
Sunsari Chief District Officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra said that a curfew has been imposed in the area from Jutbikas to the CIAA office in the east of Itahari, via Milan Chowk, in the west from Kalanki Chowk to Halgada in the north, and in the south from Sathi Petrol Pump to Bus Park.
It is said that a curfew was imposed after protesters entered the Itahari sub-metropolitan area during the Genji movement and started attacking and setting fire to it. Employees and public representatives fled for their lives after the protesters entered the sub-metropolitan area and started attacking.
