President Trump Reposts Modi's 'India-US Close Friends' Message On Truth Social

Sep 10, Kathmandu - US President Donald Trump reposted Modi's message on his social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday (local time), shortly after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the "natural partnership" between India and the US.

Trump said the two countries are in talks to resolve trade barriers amid heightened economic uncertainty following the recent US imposition of a 50 per cent tariff on Indian goods.

Earlier, in response to Trump's post, Prime Minister Modi had tweeted, "These talks will unlock the immense potential of the India-US partnership."

Modi said, “India and the US are close friends and natural partners. Our trade talks will open up immense possibilities. Our teams are working to conclude the discussions soon. I look forward to speaking with President Trump. We will work together to build a brighter future for the people of both countries.”

Trump also said in his post on Truth Social, “India and the US continue to engage in talks to address trade barriers. I look forward to speaking with my good friend, Prime Minister Modi, in the coming weeks. It will not be difficult for us to reach a successful conclusion for both of our great countries.”

This comment further confirms what he said a few days ago, calling the India-US relationship "very special," and calling Modi his permanent friend and "there is nothing to worry about."

In response to a question from ANI at a press conference at the White House on Friday (local time), Trump had said, "I will always be Modi's friend. He is a great Prime Minister. I don't like some of the steps taken now, but the India-US relationship is special. There is nothing to worry about, it's just that sometimes these moments come."

The positive statements by both the leaders have also seen enthusiasm in the stock market. The Indian market has continued to rise on the back of optimistic messages shared on social media.
