Sep 11, Kathmandu - Social media influencer Istu Karki, who is a participant in the Gen-Z movement, has told Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) that they do not accept monarchy.
Releasing a video message on Thursday through social media platform Facebook, she told Balen that she does not want a monarchy or military rule.
"My direct message to Balen. Brother, we don’t want a monarchy. We don’t want military rule. We don’t want these old leaders either", Istu said in the video.
She also urged Balen to reach a decision as soon as possible. "Take a decision as soon as possible", Istu said, "We are in great danger from external forces. There is a danger of Sikkimization. There is a danger of Bhutanization".
Stating that it is difficult to maintain national pride, Istu has also said that it will be difficult to send back foreign troops if they come to Nepal.
"There is a matter of national pride. It is difficult to maintain it. If troops from India come from outside, it is difficult to remove them. Other countries can play tomorrow. A decision has to be taken as soon as possible", Istu has said.
She has also asked the Gen-Z not to sit around arguing and to reach a decision. "Gen-Z, don’t sit around arguing anymore", Karki urges,
