Sep 11, Kathmandu - Fraternal organizations of various political parties have taken to the streets in defiance of the curfew. Student organizations have taken to the streets in defiance of the curfew at the call of Trichandra Multiple Campus, ISU University.
Student organizations are currently demonstrating near Trichandra Multiple Campus. Earlier, ISU University chair Govinda Koirala had called on all organizations to participate in the demonstration by informing through social media.
‘We are standing at a critical juncture in history. The current situation requires us all to unite and play our leading role in protecting the constitution,’ the notice said. ‘Therefore, I sincerely appeal to you to attend the protest as preparations have been made at the following places on the advice of all.’
The notice mentioned the protest time at 5 pm. However, the student organizations took to the streets an hour before the scheduled time amid curfew.
Earlier, the Nepali Students’ Union had demonstrated in small groups at various places in Kathmandu despite the ban.
