Sep 12, Kathmandu - The men's football team to play in the SAFF U-17 Championship is set to depart for Sri Lanka tomorrow. The All Nepal Football Association has bid farewell to the Nepali U-17 team that is going to Sri Lanka today.
The 23-member team to play in the SAFF U-17 Championship, to be held in Sri Lanka from September 15 to 27, 2025, is set to leave for there on Saturday.
The Nepali team playing in the SAFF U-17 Championship includes goalkeepers Pemba Norbu Bhote, Ram Bohar and Bishesh Baniya, while the defenders are Prashant Moktan, Dipen Karki, Dhiraj Rawal, Aditya Rana Magar, Bhuwan Kami, Anmol Karki, Mausam Rokaya and Anoj Khadka. Similarly, the midfielders are Prashant Menyangbo, Ram Thami, Krishta Bhandari, Pratish Thapa Magar, Bhupesh Lama, Naseeb Henjan, Susan Magar and Sujan Syangtan, while the forwards are Sameer Kumar, DIG Bijay Shahi, Nis Kumar Shrestha and Rohit Shrestha.
Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bhutan and Maldives are playing in the SAFF U-17 Championship. Nepal is in Group A with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Similarly, Group B includes India, Pakistan, Bhutan and Maldives. Nepal is scheduled to play its first match against Sri Lanka on September 15 and against Bangladesh on September 18. After the group stage matches, the top two countries will advance to the semi-finals.
