Sep 13, Kathmandu - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated and wished Sushila Karki on taking over as the Prime Minister of the interim government of Nepal. Prime Minister Modi posted this message on his social media.
In the post, Modi wrote, "Heartfelt congratulations to the Honorable Mrs. Sushila Karki upon assuming the office of Prime Minister of Nepal's interim government. India is fully committed to the peace, progress, and prosperity of Nepal's brothers and sisters."
India welcomed the formation of a new interim government in Nepal on Friday night. It said that India viewed the interim government led by former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as a positive step towards strengthening peace and stability in Nepal.
A statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said, "As a close neighbor, a shared democracy, and a long-term development partner, India is committed to working closely with Nepal for the prosperity and well-being of both countries and people."
