Sep 13, Kathmandu - Public transport has started operating within the Kathmandu Valley as the situation in the country returns to normal.

Businessmen have said that vehicles have been brought into operation keeping in mind the needs of the general public after the Nepali Army started lifting and easing the ban.

Rajan Sapkota, who drove a public microbus from Sanothimi Bhaktapur to Ratnapark, said that there was no restriction from the security administration to operate the transport.

"I have been supporting my family by driving, this microbus is the way to earn a living," Sapkota said. "The security measures imposed on movement are now being relaxed, the general public is also in trouble, so I could not wait for any decision from the public businessmen, so I took the microbus to the road at my own risk."

60-year-old Prem Prasad Khatiwada said that after learning that public transport was operating, he boarded a microbus and went from Thimi, Bhaktapur to meet his daughter at the bus park.
