Sep 13, Kathmandu - New office of Prime Minister is being built in a new building after the Prime Minister and cabinet office in Singha Durbar, which was the main target during the Gen-Z protests, was damaged by arson.

Security personnel and employees, including the Nepal Army, are busy constructing offices in the new building constructed for the Ministry of Home Affairs in the northwest part of Singha Durbar, by moving old furniture that survived the fire.

Since this morning, the process of transporting the tables, chairs, sofas, and computer equipment that survived the arson and vandalism from the old Prime Minister's Office to the new office has been underway. The new Prime Minister's Office is being prepared for operation by managing all the furniture, equipment, and equipment.

The fire is still burning on the western side of the main building of Singha Darba on the fifth day after the arson attack. Burnt vehicles, documents and other materials are scattered across most of the ministry premises that were vandalized and set on fire.

Meanwhile, in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which was among the most damaged by arson and vandalism, a large number of employees under the leadership of Secretary Chudamani Poudel have spontaneously engaged in cleaning and waste management despite Saturday being a holiday. Like other ministries, vehicles in the premises of the Ministry of Education have also been burnt to a 'human skeleton' state.

Protesters have also set fire to vehicles parked in the underground parking lot of the ministry. Spokesperson of the ministry, Joint Secretary Shiva Kumar Sapkota, who has been engaged in cleaning since 8 am this morning, said that efforts have been made to conduct daily work by deploying the ministry's own manpower for cleaning and waste management.

"We have started the cleaning work, it takes time, after cleaning, we will start maintenance," said Spokesperson Sapkota. "We will do as much work as possible with the help of employees." He said that the damage could not be estimated due to the inability to estimate the extent of the damage caused by the arson.

Spokesperson Sapkota said, "We have formed a team to assess the damage, and it is working. Vehicles, computers, furniture, and television sets parked in the parking lot have been damaged."

He said that the amount of damage caused by working together and by what method the office can be prepared quickly if the work is carried out. He believes that the work they are doing to restore the office to its original condition in places where there is no structural damage will help.

The work carried out by the employees of the Ministry of Education will inspire other ministries and offices affected by the movement to operate.
