Armed Police Begin Patrols and Warnings in Kathmandu as Heavy Rain Looms

Oct 03, Kathmandu - The Armed Police Force (APF) has initiated late-night "patrolling" and "miking" (public announcements) in high-risk areas of Kathmandu starting Friday evening, following a forecast of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across most of Nepal between Ashwin 17 to 20.

The mobilization is a proactive measure against potential monsoon-related disasters. According to APF Co-Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa, areas targeted for patrols and warnings include Chobhar, Balkhu, Balaju, Machhapokhari, and Banasthali, among others.
