Oct 05, Kathmandu - The Nepali women's cricket team suffered a defeat in the third match of the International Women's T20 series against Malaysia on Sunday, losing by 13 runs.
The loss comes a day after Nepal secured a convincing six-wicket victory in the second match. With this result, and having also lost the opening game by three runs, Malaysia now takes a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Chasing a target of 121 runs set by the hosts, Nepal could only manage 107 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Rubina Chhetry contributed the highest score for Nepal with 31 runs. Samjhana Khadka added 18 runs. Captain Indu Barma remained unbeaten on 21 runs.
Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat, Malaysia posted a competitive total of 120 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs.
Aina Hamizah was the standout performer for Malaysia, scoring a match-high 61 runs.
With the victory in the third game, Malaysia has seized the advantage in the series.
