Oct 07, Kathmandu - Following complaints of overcharging passengers returning to Kathmandu, the Chitwan administration has taken action against the drivers and owners of vehicles that were charging excessive fares. A team led by Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal, including the head of the security agency, took action against them.
According to Chief Police Inspector Gayatri Sharma of the District Traffic Police Office, a team including Chief District Officer Aryal, Superintendent of Police Govinda Puri, and National Investigation Office Chief Suresh Tiwari inspected the roads and took action at Pulchowk, Pokhara Bus Park, and Aanpatari in Narayangadh.
She informed that six people who were charging higher fares have been taken into custody. Action has been taken against those who cheated passengers by giving them higher fare tickets and stating less amount in the invoice. Similarly, Police Inspector Sharma said that the higher fares collected by 25 microbuses have also been refunded.
