Oct 07, Kathmandu - Gen-Z leader Sudan Gurung's group is pressuring the Kathmandu Police to register a criminal complaint against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. On Monday, his group reached the District Police Complex in Bhadrakali, Kathmandu and pressurized, and the police have adopted high alert based on informal conversations they had with them there.
Since Monday evening, police working in Kathmandu district have been on 'alert' to control possible riots, leaving their regular duty. Last night, Prime Minister Sushila Karki discussed Gen-Z's demand to arrest Oli and Lekhak with the heads of security agencies in Baluwatar. However, a high-ranking security officer who participated in the discussion said that no concrete decision was made. The officer says, 'There were many issues, but no decision was made.'
Security officials say that the issue of Oli and Lekhk should be based on the decision of a high-level inquiry commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki.
Security personnel have also been deployed there after rumors spread that the Gen-Z group was planning to surround the CIAA headquarters in Tangal on Tuesday, demanding that CIAA chief Prem Kumar Rai be brought to justice.
