Oct 10, Kathmandu - Nepal Police has clarified that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandra Kuber Khapung did not say that he would resign if pressured to arrest former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
In a statement today, the Nepal Police Headquarters denied the news that IGP Khapung had said that he would resign if pressured to arrest Oli and Lekhak.
"It has been informed to all concerned that the Inspector General of Police has not made any statement indicating such intention anywhere, and that in the security meetings and reports held with the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, he has analyzed the current developments or the security challenges created by them and has focused only on maintaining peace and order, and has held cordial discussions," the statement said.
