Commission Cancels Gokarnamani Duwadi's Abroad Travel

Oct 17, Kathmandu - The Commission of Inquiry into the Bhadra 23 and 24 incidents has decided to allow Gokarna Mani Duwadi, the current Secretary of the National Planning Commission, to travel throughout the country. The commission meeting held on Friday decided to allow Dawadi, the Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs during the Gen-Z Movement of Bhadra 23 and 24 and the current Secretary of the National Planning Commission, to leave the Kathmandu Valley and travel throughout Nepal.

The Commission, as the coordinator of the committee formed to assess the damage to public property, physical infrastructure, commercial establishments and private property during the Genji generation movement on Bhadra 23 and 24 and to prepare a reconstruction plan for public infrastructure, has stated that it has taken this decision because the Commission is required to conduct on-site observation visits to all seven provinces to assess the damage caused during the movement, as per the decision of the Council of Ministers. The Commission is not allowed to leave the valley and has written to the government to lift the ban on foreign travel.

The statement of the commission said, 'In this context, since he is under the purview of this commission's investigation regarding his work as Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs during the Gokarnamani Duwadi movement, he should be present at this commission at any time for the statement work. Therefore, he will be allowed to leave the Kathmandu Valley for the work mentioned above by informing this commission for a maximum of 7 (seven) days at a time, and the ban on foreign travel will remain in place.'

Similarly, the commission has requested the Supreme Court, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, government offices, industries, businesses, political parties, provincial and various level offices, educational institutions, and personal property to provide details regarding damage and loss.
