Inspiring Journey of Child Singer Ashok Darji in New Film 'Man Bina Ko Dhan'

Oct 30, Kathmandu - The film 'Man Bina Ko Dhan' has been made based on the life and struggles of child singer Ashok Darji. Directed by musician and singer Tanka Budhathoki, who brought the singer from the streets and supported him in singing, the film depicts the clash between mind and wealth in today's society and shows Darji's journey from zero to hero.

Singer Budhathoki said that the story of the film has been prepared by including the events of singer Darji's childhood and the truth of some of the allegations against him.

He said, "I have brought the life-changing story of singer Darji, who used to walk on the streets singing songs, into the film. This is not his complete biography, we have prepared it as a film, but the basic events have been taken from his life. This film introduces the singer Darji's biography and also provides entertainment."

He said that this will be the first and last film for this age group as the singer is currently studying in class nine. Along with singer Darji, the film also stars Saroj Khanal, Santosh Panta, Rama Thapaliya, Neeta Dhungana, Bhola Sapkota, Budhi Tamang, Ramesh Bishwakarma, Rabindra Jha, Parbati Adhikari, Utsav Sapkota, A.R. Budhathoki, Shankar Shrestha, Samragyee Thapa, Bina Raut, Babu Parajuli, Rakshya Shrestha, Priyanka Jha and other actors.

Singer Darji said that he got his education and musical environment because of singer Budhathoki.

He said, “He brought me from the streets and made me a singer. The fact that I am known like this is the gift of singer Budhathoki. This story also inspires me by showing my struggle. If it inspires someone else to dream and reach their destination for a street child like me, it will be a great achievement. I cannot say anything in words about singer Budhathoki, who made a child walking on the streets a member of his own family.”

Shivam Adhikari has written the screenplay and dialogues for the film ‘Man Bina Ko Dhan’, which is directed by singer Budhathoki along with the story. The film will be screened in Nepal and some foreign countries from Kartik 21, informed distributor Karan Shrestha.
