Shekhar Koirala's Active Initiative to Break the Deadlock and Move Towards the General Convention

Oct 31, Kathmandu - The Nepali Congress's founding and non-establishment group has concluded that a regular general convention should be held before the upcoming elections.

The meeting of the non-establishment group held this morning at leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala's liaison office in Bishal Nagar concluded that the party's 15th general convention should be held before the elections on 21 Falgun. 'Our view is that the regular general convention should be held before the elections, at the latest by mid-Poush,' said a leader participating in the Bishal Nagar meeting, 'We have said that the date of the general convention should be fixed on 16th Poush.'

The other group has tasked the general secretaries to prepare a work schedule to conclude the general convention on December 16 and present it in the meeting on Friday. The meeting with Koirala was attended by Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma, and Joint General Secretaries Jeevan Pariyar and Badri Pandey.
