Russia Claims Major Victory in War

Oct 31, Kathmandu - The war between Russia and Ukraine continues. On Thursday, Russia claimed to have thwarted a Ukrainian military attack on Pokrovsk.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian forces have captured two settlements in a day.

The ministry also said that they had struck Ukrainian long-range drone assembly and storage sites, railway infrastructure, ammunition depots and temporary deployment points.

They also claimed to have struck besieged Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk, Donetsk.

Russian air defense systems shot down eight precision-guided bombs, three American-made rockets and a drone.

On the same day, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Tsyrsky, inspected the defense situation in the Pokrovsk region.

He rejected Russian claims that Ukrainian forces had surrounded and blocked Pokrovsk and Kupyansk. Ukraine has also denied that its forces were surrounded.
