Gamblers have been arrested from Lalitpur with more than Rs 3 million in cash.
Police have arrested 17 people on Saturday evening while they were gambling at the house of Ajay Maharjan of Sunkothi in Lalitpur. Police have recovered Rs 3 million 84 thousand 400 from them.
Police also recovered 19 playing cards, 16 pieces of cloth, 5 pieces of carom used for playing cards, and 150 pieces of bean seeds from them.
Among the arrested are Ram Bahadur Lama, Prakash Bhandari, Love Kumar Basnet, Rakesh Maharjan, Dinesh Pudasaini, Hitler Shrestha, Anil Maharjan, Shrikrishna Khadka, Tulsiram Maharjan, Sanukancha Maharjan, Purna Shrestha, Vinod Prasad Ghimire, Purnaman Mali, Sanukancha Basnet, Ram Khatri, Vinod Maharjan and There is Chirikaji Maharjan.
Police had cordoned off Ajay Maharjan at 5.30 pm on Friday. Police said that they were arrested while Charat was gambling on the second floor of the house. He is also one of the high-profile people to be arrested for gambling.
Among those arrested is Vinod Ghimire, a 'master' of gambling. Ghimire presses the remote. The bet he placed on the kauda from the pressed remote is the bet. He is a controversial gambler. He has been arrested many times.
Another gambler arrested is Prakash Bhandari, who plays a major role in giving money on interest. Bhandari is also a known gangster from Lalitpur.
Sanu Kancha Basnet, also known as Kancha Basnet, is the owner of the United Colony. He has investments in United Cooperative, College, School, and other businesses. They are all from Lalitpur.
