Two Arrested in Connection with the Murder of Siraj Sharma in Jhapa

Nov 01, Kathmandu- In Jhapa, police have arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of Siraj Sharma of Shivasatakshi Municipality, Maidar. The suspects are 25-year-old Sunil Shah and 26-year-old Rahul Shah, residents of Maidar Ward 10, Shivasatakshi Municipality, as confirmed by the Jhapa District Police Office. Sharma had gone missing along with his vehicle since Kartik 9.

His body was discovered this morning in the Biring River, located between Bhadashi Rural Municipality and Jhapa Rural Municipality. Sharma's car, a Baghmati Province registration number 01-03 CH 7194, was found abandoned earlier, set on fire inside a community forest in Mechinagar-13.

Jhapa District Police Chief SP Rajan Limbu stated that Sharma's body was found buried under the Biring River Bridge, near the riverbank. He added that the vehicle was buried along the riverbank and the foul smell led locals to inform the police. Police are currently investigating the case, and authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the murder.
