Nov 01, Kathmandu- In a significant step towards improving healthcare access, a new community health clinic has been established in Khaaya, Nagranath, Baglung Municipality, through a collective effort of local organizations and residents.

The clinic was inaugurated after successful fundraising efforts, including donations from local community members, organizations, and government bodies. The initiative involved contributions from Baglung Municipality, Narayansthan Health Post Fairmed, Nepal Gaja Development Foundation, Sambodhan Project, Khaaya Tole Development Association, Shiva Primary School, and individual benefactors.

Starting operations this past Friday, the clinic was established at a cost of approximately NPR 1,09,000. Baglung Municipality's Ward Chairperson Chakrabahadur Khati confirmed that the municipality would provide medicines and manpower to support the clinic's operation.

Financial contributions for the clinic's setup included NPR 15,400 from the municipality, NPR 28,230 from Narayansthan Health Post, NPR 27,445 from the Nepal Gaja Development Foundation's Sambodhan Project, NPR 10,500 from the Tole Development Association, and NPR 18,000 in personal donations from association president Homanath Dhakal.

Additional support came from local community members, including NPR 4,200 from Progressive Health Mothers Group, NPR 4,500 from philanthropist Gaur Bahadur Poudel and his wife Bhadra Kala Poudel, and NPR 1,200 from Man Kumari Thapa. The Shiva Primary School also contributed a room in their building, bringing the total investment to NPR 109,475 through a partnership program.

An agreement has been signed among all involved organizations to ensure the clinic's smooth and regular operation.

Ram Prasad Khanal, Head of the Health Branch of Baglung Municipality, committed that the municipality would support all administrative aspects beyond staffing, including medicines, equipment, and other necessary supplies, to ensure the clinic's sustainability.

This collaborative community effort marks a positive milestone in local healthcare development, promising better health services for the residents of Nagranath.
