Nov 01, Kathmandu - The Nepali national women's U-19 volleyball team, which will be going to Sri Lanka for the CAVA U-19 Championship, has been bid farewell.
Sports Minister Bablu Gupta and association officials bid farewell to the national women's U-19 volleyball team during a program organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association in Kathmandu on Saturday.
At the farewell program, Minister Gupta informed that discussions are underway to find land to build a volleyball court as there is no national court for the national volleyball team.
Similarly, he said that preparations are being made to take a proposal to the Cabinet to remove the 25 percent tax on cash prizes given by the state to players who win international medals in various sports.
He mentioned that the Ministry of Finance will also take a proposal to the upcoming Cabinet to make a mandatory contribution of 1 percent from their CSR to the Sports Development Fund.
Similarly, he said that he has also made preparations to distribute identity cards to players of all sports.
The Nepali national women's U-19 volleyball team, led by Jenisha Bishwakarma, will play in the CAVA U-19 Championship in Colombo, Sri Lanka from Kartik 18 to 23. The Nepali Volleyball Association has stated that the team will leave for there on Sunday.
