Morang Industry Organization Demands Immediate Connection of Power Cut in Industries

Nov 02, Kathmandu- The Morang Industry Organization has objected to the Nepal Electricity Authority's decision to suspend electricity supply to industries over the issue of dedicated and trunkline electricity tariffs, saying that production has come to a standstill. The organization issued a statement on Sunday saying that the suspension of electricity supply has led to the shutdown of industrial production and has sent a negative message to the private sector.

According to the organization, the power cut in industries has sent a negative message to national and international investors. The shutdown of production has seriously affected employment, revenue, bank interest payments and market networks.

The Morang Industry Organization has demanded an immediate resolution of the dispute through tripartite coordination between the Nepal Electricity Authority, the Government of Nepal and the private sector and the restoration of power supply.

The statement said, “We urge you to immediately resume the power supply that has been cut, recognizing the complexity created by the shutdown of industries and factories.”
